Manslaughter charge laid in 2021 fatal stabbing in Whistler Village

A person has been charged with manslaughter in a deadly stabbing in Whistler final August, murder investigators mentioned on Thursday.

Henry Stanley Garcia Molina, 26, was in entrance of the Bearfoot Bistro in Whistler Village through the early hours of Aug. 14, making an attempt to get a taxi again to his resort room, when he was stabbed, the Built-in Murder Investigation Workforce mentioned on the time.

He was taken to the Whistler Medical Clinic, the place he died.

IHIT mentioned murder investigators and Richmond RCMP arrested a suspect, 22-year-old Dedaar Jhooty, on Wednesday.

“Henry Garcia Molina’s dying was a shock to his household and the Whistler neighborhood,” IHIT Sgt. David Lee mentioned in a media launch. “We hope that this arrest gives some closure and solace to his household.”

On the time of the stabbing, IHIT mentioned Molina was not identified to police, and his dying wasn’t believed to be related to the continuing Decrease Mainland gang battle.

In a press release after his dying, Molina’s household described him as a “kind-hearted younger man who was all the time prepared to assist others,” and who was “very concerned with the neighborhood and admired by many.”
