A person has been charged following a four-hour standoff with police at a Grimsby, Ont., condominium on Monday morning.
Niagara Regional Police say the stalemate occurred in a residential space close to North Service Highway and Winston Highway after witnesses noticed a person getting into a foyer carrying what was believed to be a handgun.
“After talking with witnesses, uniformed officers confirmed the suspect retreated to an condominium contained in the condominium,” Niagara police mentioned in a launch.
The 29-year-old Grimsby man would ultimately give up peacefully to police.
There have been no accidents because of the interplay.
A duplicate black and silver pistol could be recovered by investigators after a search of the condominium.
The person is going through a single cost of possession of a harmful weapon.
